An Anarchist on Anarchy by Élisée Reclus; 44 page staple-bound pamphlet/zine. Elisée Reclus was a geologist, writer and prominant anarchist thinker of the 19th Century. This pamphlet, originally published in the Contemporary Review, and then reprinted as a pamphlet by Benjamin R. Tucker, 1884. From An Anarchist on Anarchy: We know that we are defending the cause of the poor, the disinherited, the suffering; we are seeking to restore to them the earth, personal rights, confidence in the future; and is it not natural that they should encourage us by look and gesture, even when they dare not come to us? In times of trouble, when the iron hand of might loosens its hold, and paralyzed rulers reel under the weight of their own power; when the "groups," freed for an instant from the pressure above, reform themselves according to their natural affinities, on which side will be the many?
